Our University Cheongdo Kebi Night Market and Club Union Festival
The Cheongdae Times Regular reporter Yu-chan Lee
On November 13, the Cheongdo Kebi Night Market and Club Union Festival was held at the University Culture Center of our University, hosted by the Student Council, the General Assembly, and the Club Union Association. This event was organized to instill pride in university culture and enhance students' sense of belonging. It heated up the campus with various programs held from 5 PM to 10 PM. ▲ Photos of students participating in the event. For this event, table reservations were made so that students could enjoy the event comfortably. A total of 80 tables were set up in front of the stage in the plaza of the University Culture Center, and the tables were organized into groups of four and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis through Google Form. If students joined the event late or failed to reserve a table, they were free to sit on the steps behind the table seating area. ▲ Photos of students performing on stage. On the central stage, a singing contest and club performances were held. The students' performances, which included ballads, hip-hop, and dance, received a great response from the audience. In particular, the passionate performances of the students who participated in the singing contest deeply moved the audience and became the highlight of the event.
Kim Se-hyun, a student from the Department of English Literature, who participated in the festival, said, “I didn't have a chance to stand in front of many people, so I wanted to experience it. I didn't have any difficulties in preparing for the festival because I was singing on stage, and I think I will be able to stand in front of people more relaxed next time because of this experience. The atmosphere in the night market was very good because the host led the event well and everyone enjoyed it together. Everyone responded actively, so the atmosphere was very good. In between the performances, there were mini games such as guessing the capital of the country led by the host, which was interesting and memorable.”
The event consisted of a variety of programs, including various performances, various experience booths, exciting events, and delicious food trucks, and students had a great time filling the venue. ▲ Photos of students showing their enthusiasm and engagement.
One side of the venue was lined with stalls organized by students, adding to the energy of the event. The booths organized by clubs and departments showcased various experiences and unique products and attracted a lot of attention.
Kim Na-yeon, a student from the Department of Tourism and Management, who participated in the event, said, "I really enjoyed the Cheongdo Kebi Night Market because there were so many fun activities and delicious food. The most memorable part was the food truck’s fried chicken, which was so tasty that I want to recommend it to other students. I hope there will be more singing contests and performances in the future so that students can come together and enjoy them." She responded positively, expressing her enthusiasm.
Shin Ye-ji, a student from the Department of International Trade, said, “As I am approaching graduation, I started to feel more nostalgic about my time at school. I realized that this would be my last festival, so I wanted to celebrate the end of my school life and make memories with my friends.” She continued, "Watching the students passionately sing on stage during the student singing contest and seeing the audience cheer along gave me a warm feeling, and I was able to draw energy from that atmosphere." She shared that she made wonderful memories and had great experiences at her final festival at school.
This year's 'Cheongdo Kebi Night Market and Club Union Festival' held a meaning beyond just a simple celebration. The event, created together by clubs and students, strengthened the sense of community among the university members and provided an opportunity to share the unique university culture of our school. The Student Council, General Assembly, and Club Union plan to continue actively gathering students' opinions and organizing various cultural events. We look forward to the continued vibrant university cultural activities at our school in the future. |
