On October 8, 2024, our university held a sports competition at our university's grand stadium after selecting athletes through each college sports competition. This sports competition was organized by Cheongju University's 57th student council, “The New.” In particular, at the opening ceremony, President Kim Yoon-bae and several guests shone. Business colleges, Humanities and Social Sciences Colleges, Engineering colleges, Arts colleges, Health and Medical Science colleges, and direct departments participated in the sports competition

First of all, in soccer, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences beat the College of Arts 6:0 and settled in the final with a bye. The College of Health and Medical Sciences won the match between the College of Health and Medical Sciences and the Department of Direct Control. The College of Business won the game between the College of Engineering and the College of Business. In the semi-finals between the College of Health and Medical Sciences and the College of Business, the College of Health and Medical Sciences won after a persistent game. In the final match between the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Health and Medical Sciences, the College of Health and Medical Sciences beat the College of Humanities and Social Sciences 2-0 to win the championship.

Kim Min-sik, a student of the Department of Newspapers and Broadcasting who participated in the athletic competition as an athlete and prepared hard as a student council member, said. "I am proud that the members of the student council gathered together and prepared efficiently, even though the preparation period was not long. However, it was difficult because I was very busy. The period of the club's academic festival and the sports competition overlapped. I think I've worked hard to complete using my physical strength by winning the first game smoothly. In the next game, I never let my guard down and showed a confident performance because my opponent was also strong.“

In the dodgeball game, the College of Health and Medical Sciences beat the College of Arts to advance to the final, while the College of Humanities and Social Sciences advanced to the final by beating the College of Engineering and the College of Business in turn. in the end, College of Humanities and Social Sciences won the final by beating the University of Health and Medical Sciences. In the tug-of-war, the Business College won the championship by beating the Humanities and Social Science College, In basketball, the Business College, which went up to a bye, beat the Engineering College and won the championship.

Lee Kang-eun, a Literature and Informatics major who participated in the sports competition as a student council president and spectator, said. "As I belong to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, I support the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the most impressive games are the soccer game between the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the foot baseball game between the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. In particular, the soccer game was so easy to win, so it was fun to watch, and the foot baseball was sad to lose because we didn't have enough time. In addition, it was an opportunity for the students of humanities and social studies to get closer as they all worked hard together from the preparation process.“

In this sports competition, not only the games but also many events were prepared. There were prize draws through talent shows, and prize draws through lotteries, Each college prepared food, drink, and alcohol so that students participating in the sports competition were not bored.

In the end, the College of Health and Medical Sciences won the overall title, and the College of Business won the runner-up prize. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences followed in third place. Lee Seong-min of the College of Health and Medical Sciences said. "I was more confident because our college had specialized departments for sports competitions, and I am so grateful not only to the student council members but also to the students who came to cheer and to the players who worked hard to prepare and participate in the game.“

As such, this sports competition was a good opportunity for students from various departments to unite in colleges and become a little closer. In addition, students who were tired of academic stress were able to relieve and enjoy their stress for a while.
