Our University Central Library Cafe Reopens!

Our university's central library has opened its library cafe, which closed three years ago, this second semester after construction during this summer vacation. What changed from the library cafe three years ago is the much brighter interior and variety of menu items.  In addition, the outdoor terrace has expanded, and the number of tables has increased. The library cafe has a door to the right from the laptop reading room on the second floor. It is not an easy place to see at a glance, so it may be difficult to find it.

If you look inside the library, you will be surprised by the facilities; it is as nice as some franchise cafes. The size is also wide, and there are many tables, kiosks, and drinks, including coffee, as well as a variety of items such as bread and sandwiches for a simple meal. The biggest advantage of library cafes is the outdoor terrace.

The outdoor terrace, where you can enjoy a large space and a wonderful view of the school, can comfort the mind and bodies of students who are tired of academic stress. Students studying in the library can stop by the library cafe to look at the outdoor terrace and heal when they are too tired. Department of Korean Language Education student number Lee Hyeon ji said. "I haven't known about the library cafe for four years, but I went to the library cafe for the first time this semester at the recommendation of a friend, and I was surprised by the size. It was larger than I thought, and most of all, the coffee and drinks tasted good. Also, it does not have a heavy atmosphere like a library, but a lighter atmosphere, so it is good to come and share opinions with friends or seniors and juniors. It's not much time left in school, but I'll often use library cafes for the rest of my time.“

Department of Korean Language Education student number 20 Park Kwang sun said. "When I saw the library cafe under construction during the vacation, I thought I should go to the library cafe. Currently, I come five days out of the week, and I often visit because of its accessibility and variety. If you have classmates who come to the library cafe, I recommend you try Honey Jambong Sandwich. I will continue to use a space called a library cafe often in the future.“

The name of the library cafe is "Chai." It means healthy and delicious tea with the letters "茶" and "利" used, The sign reads, "Comfort you with health." As such, healthy menu items such as brown rice pokes, yolk pokes, chicken breast salad, salmon salad, and smoked duck salad for vegetarians and dieters are also available.

The kiosk used in the cafe is written not only in Korean but also in English, so international students at our school will not have difficulty using it. In addition, there is a 500 won discount when taking out, including all drinks. It is important to note that all areas, including outdoor terraces, are non-smoking areas. Also, you should not use the library reading room with cafe food. This is because our school library prohibits eating food in the reading room.

The library cafe is open from 08:30 to 20:30 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 18:00 on weekends. During the exam period, it is available until 23:00 on weekdays. It is true that there were not many users because the library cafe was reopened after three years, so it was not known to the classmates yet. However, the facilities are so great that it would be nice for many students to use the library cafe as a kind of resting place. These days, when the sun sets quickly, it would be good to study while looking at the sunset or looking at the night view.
